About Dr. Porter

Dr. Joseph R. Porter

Dr. Porter, a Baton Rouge native, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Southeastern Louisiana University. He received his doctorate from the LSU School of Dentistry. Along with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, he has an advanced degree in Family Dentistry. Dr. Porter is an accredited orthodontist. This means that he is a dental specialist who has completed an advanced post-doctoral course, accredited by the American Dental Association, of at least two academic years in the specialty of orthodontics. While at the LSU School of Dentistry, he was honored to receive the prestigious Baldridge Scholarship, the General Dentistry Award, the Prosthetics Award and the Diagnosis of Oralfacial Pain Award. Dr. Porter is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and is also board certified through the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Porter’s goal is to establish an orthodontic practice with a comfortable, friendly environment, committed to excellent service for his patients. He believes that every patient should feel comfortable asking questions and should feel confident in the quality of their care. Dr. Porter is dedicated to creating outstanding smiles for his patients, using the latest technology available.
